Parker Scoring System - Mass

Talk to most avid hunters and ask them what is most important to a deer trophy, mass will be high on the list.  The current Boone & Crocket scoring system is designed for symetry.  Even the B&C nontypical score has deductions for asymetry.  The SCI scoring system as well as B&C have added an extra measurement for spread (called spread credit), so both B&C and SCI put a heavier weight on wideth.  Now everyone likes a wide buck, but let don't over emphasis it.  You're already getting credit for the wideth in the regular tine length measurement.

Now let's talk about mass.  In my scoring system we are going to double the mass measurement.  This doesn't make a giant difference but it does add to the overall mass credit.

So let's summarize what I have just said.  In the Parker Scoring System we have done the following:

1.  No deductions for asymetry

2.  No spread credit

3.  We double the mass measurement
